Biography
Jonathan Sandbach is a professional economist with 40 years of industrial experience, principally in the aviation and telecommunications sectors. He was Chief Economist of Heathrow Airport from 2010 to 2017, responsible for securing critical elements of the regulatory framework, including the weighted average cost of capital and the methodology used to determine traffic forecasts.
Previous to this, he was Head of Regulatory Economics for Vodafone Group, and Head of Economic and Regulatory Analysis for the Cable and Wireless Group. He was also a Senior Consultant for NERA, working across telecommunications and other regulated sectors.
Jonathan has an extensive background in quantitative analysis and econometrics; particularly in forecasting models, and comparative efficiency analysis.
